Temperature comfort
Sense learns how cooler and warmer conditions tend to feel to you instead of assuming one universal comfort range.
Sense is Vane's personalization layer. It learns from optional weather check-ins so a forecast can describe not only what the conditions are, but what those conditions are likely to mean to you.
A forecast can tell two people that it is 72°F, humid and breezy. It cannot assume those two people experience that weather the same way.
Sense gives Vane a way to learn that difference over time. Instead of replacing the forecast, it adds a personal layer on top of the same weather data.

Your check-ins give Vane more context for the conditions around a moment, so the forecast can become more personally meaningful.
Vane keeps what it has learned while making room for conditions to feel different as seasons and weather patterns change.
A few simple answers give Vane a starting point without pretending it already knows you.
Optional check-ins connect your experience with the actual weather conditions around that moment.
As Vane sees more real conditions with you, its personal layer can become more familiar and useful.
Vane still keeps the weather details you expect, including temperature, precipitation, wind, humidity, UV, sunrise and sunset. Sense adds context to those details rather than replacing them with a black box.
Your Sense profile and check-ins can sync through your private iCloud database on devices signed in to your Apple Account. Vane has no ads, no cross-app tracking and no separate Vane account.
Vane is currently available as a free public beta for iPhone through TestFlight.
